You've probably already felt this in your own work

Some weeks you're holding the room with ease. The silences don't bother you, you're following what's actually happening in front of you rather than the plan you wrote, and you can say no without adding a story after it to explain yourself.

Then another week comes and it's the same room, the same you, and you're over-preparing, talking faster than you mean to, everything feels urgent, and you're adding another bonus to the course because it still doesn't feel like enough.

Or the client emails have been sitting unopened for three days, you've cancelled the class, and you're telling yourself you've gotten lazy.

Yeah? I see it, that's a cyclical nervous system at play and I ran my business this way for years myself.

Same business, same you, just a different amount of capacity available. It's not a discipline thing or a personality thing. Your nervous system has a different amount to give depending on where you are in your cycle, and it's moving in a predictable pattern.

They didn't teach you the language of the female body

It wasn't until 1993 that the law passed saying women had to be included in clinical research, and the female nervous system didn't start getting researched until the early 2000s. Then think about how long it takes for that to reach the trainings we're all taking, from textbooks that are already five or ten years old.

So the standard body you trained on was a male body, applied to women as if hers would simply respond the same way. And shocking news... she doesn't.

Yoga was designed for prepubescent boys and it's now taught to studios full of women with very little variation. Coaching principles are applied to women whose brains shift by 25% across one cycle.

To me this is simple female body literacy, and it still isn't in our trainings.

"This class was really eye-opening!

I loved learning how our NS capacity changes across the different phases of the cycle, and how I can best support myself throughout the month. Especially as a somatic coach and yoga teacher, I find this knowledge to be a fundamental piece to include in my work."

Andrea, Somatic Coach & Yoga Teacher

Your Cyclical Nervous System

In this 2.5 hour, experiential class, you'll learn:

✦ How your nervous system shifts through all four phases of your cycle. Where you have peak resilience and fast recovery from stress, and where recovery slows right down.

The four nervous system states, expressed somatically - sensations, thoughts, actions, and how each one shows up in your business and when facilitating. By the end you'll have awareness of your go-to states and your early warning signs

The real meaning of cycle-syncing, as a self-love practice and a long-term lifestyle choice rather than another way to optimise yourself.

◯  What dysregulation looks like, and what becomes possible when your own capacity grows

✦  A 20min guided, oxytocin-generating somatic practice, so you leave with regulation tools you've experienced for yourself

✦  Bonus: The Cyclical Capacity Map for integration - a fill-in workbook

This is a taste of the work we spend 100 hours living and embodying inside the Menstrual Cycle Educator Certification, so you'll also get a real feel for how I teach and how the work lands in your body.

"That might have been one of the most thoughtful presentations on the female nervous system I've ever watched.

Nervous system nourishment is the cornerstone of my own work, and I'm so grateful for the way you connected it all with the hormonal rhythms of the female body."

-Brittany, Nervous System & Embodiment Mentor

"I’ve done a lot of learning and personal work around the nervous system, but seeing it through the lens of the female cycle was such a lightbulb moment for me.

The part about working with women but not understanding their cycle was huge for me. I’ve always questioned the masculine structures we’re expected to operate within, even in spaces like yoga, and I’ve felt for a while that there is a gap there.
Your teaching style allowed the information to land in my body, rather than just taking it in intellectually. I left feeling really nourished and aligned, and honestly feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.
Thank you for sharing this work so beautifully.”

Your primary regulator is oxytocin

Most of what you've been taught about regulating the nervous system (if at all!) was built for a body running on dopamine. That system rewards you for output, and a lot of the wellness world is built right on top of it (ice baths, Int. Fasting, High Intensity training).

A woman's body runs differently. Oxytocin is her primary regulator, and it's generated through the things a productive culture treats as optional. Warmth, slowness, pleasure, touch, connection. When she's living in survival states, or pushing through week after week, oxytocin is one of the first things to deplete, and her hormones are impacted (hello menstrual symptoms).

This is the piece that makes sense of all the things you've been encouraged to do but maybe never fully understood.

E.g. Why she can be doing every single thing on the self-care list and still feel depleted.

In the class we'll go into how this works, and then you'll feel it, because we'll do an oxytocin-generating somatic practice together live.

Her words...

YOUR TEACHER

Hi Love, I'm Jaime

The founder of Cyclical Living, a trauma-informed school for Teachers, Coaches & Facilitators, and lead teacher of the Menstrual Cycle Educator Certification. I've trained over 70 women who are now carrying menstrual cycle education & female body wisdom into their own communities around the world.

My journey started as a yoga teacher who, after ten years of practice, felt like something was still missing. That missing piece was the connection to my womb, my cycle, and female body. For the last 7 years, I've been guiding women through personal transformation through the menstrual cycle, because I've found it to be the most powerful way to bring a woman back into her body and into deep trust with herself.

What sets my work apart is the bridging of evidence-based education and somatics. You'll understand the female nervous system with real depth, and you'll feel it in your own body, so this work becomes something you live, and something the women around you can feel.

Every year I take a group of women through the Menstrual Cycle Educator Certification, which is where this work goes deep over six months. This class is an experience of how I teach, and it will still be deeply impactful if this is as far as you want to go.

Who you'll be on the other side

A woman who understands her own cyclical nervous system, and knows why some weeks she's resilient as F*k, and some weeks tender. You'll be the woman who proactively supports her nervous system instead of reactively, and prioritises expanding her window of tolerance through living cyclically.
